{BBQ Short Ribs:}

Tonight Jon and I will be having BBQ Short Ribs for dinner. Here is the recipe below:

Beef short ribs (1 lb per person)
3 tablespoons kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Combine seasoning ingredients for rub in a Ziploc bag, mixing well.
Remove what you need and store the remainder.
Wash ribs and pat dry. Rub with seasoning mixture.
Place a disposable drip pan under the grates of the barbecue and heat to high.
Wipe grates with oil to prevent sticking.
When grates are hot, place ribs over drip pan, cover and reduce heat to low.
Baste ribs while cooking with Honey Smoke Barbecue Sauce (or sauce of your choice).
Baste once 20 minutes before ribs are done, and a second time 10 minutes later.
Average sized ribs are cooked rare in 25-30 minutes, medium rare in 35-40 minutes,
and well done in 45-50 minutes. These times will vary according to the grill used and the size of the ribs.
Small ribs may require less cooking time, while large ribs may need a little more time on the grill.
Adjust accordingly.

{Grandma's and Grandpa's House:}

Last weekend Jon, I and the boys went to see our parents. The boys had a blast at Grandma's and Grandpa's house... Here is some photos from that day.

{Bike torn apart:}

I meant to take these photos last night of what Jon's work bench looked like but I forgot to. So here are they are... The second photo is of the rod bearing on the front cylinder that he thinks that broke. Well I think that this is a photo of it...

{Bath Time:}

I just gave the boys a bath which was long over due. Now they are running around the house trying to get the shampoo smell off them.

{Dinner Tonight:}

I was looking through the freezer this morning trying to figure out what we were going to have for dinner tonight and I came across 2 Beef Rib Steaks. They are de-thawing right now but I am racking my brain and the internet trying to figure out what kind of marinade to use. This might be an all day project! Anyone have any suggestions?

{Jon's Bike:}

Well after last night and Jon tearing the motor apart on his bike he thinks that he spun the rod bearing on the front cylinder. An expenisve fix! He said that the motor will have to get shipped out to get worked on. Better save his pennies... Poor hubby! This will have to be added to the list of winter projects that we have.

August 20, 2010

Well this morning started out with a bang. I was just about to head out the door when I noticed that Jon had called me. I called him back and he said that he was at the Meijer by our house. He told me that his bike was making funny noises and that the motor might seize up. Luckly our neighbor was home and was able to pick him up and bring the bike back home. Now we have 2 bikes that are apart in the garage.

Jon is now in the garage trying to figure out what is wrong with his car. I am inside with the boys still working on work stuff even though I had a half day today. Hank is running around the house with his bunny while Shooter is freaking out next to me. Hopefully nothing else will go wrong this week but at least the week is almost over. Keeping my fingers crossed.

{Cleaning after Vacation:}

I just found these photos from after our vacation when we got back home. We had to do major cleaning on the boat and the car

Last night Jon and I went fishing with the neighbors. Here are some of the photos that I took:

{Rock Cut State Park:}

 Over the weekend Jon, the boys and I went to Rock Cut State Park in IL. It was a blast. We met another couple up there with their dog and camped out under the stars. We took our boat and went fishing everyday. I was surprised that 4 people and 3 dogs even fit and the boat but we managed. Just had to make sure when we were casting our lines that we did not hit anyone. It rained alittle but but it was not bad. We brought our canapy with just in case the weather did not hold up. Jon got to filet a fish for the first time as well. We had some much fun relaxing and catching up with them. Here are some of the photos that I took when we were there. Hope you enjoy!
