February Daily: 8 #2

I know I have 2 postings for February 8 but I could not help myself. The boys needed some treats and I decided to make some doggie treats for them. Here is Jon holding one of the treats that I made. I thought that for Valentine's Day it would be nice to have heart shaped treats. Little did I know that the only cookie cutter that I have is a HUGE one. So I only made a few as the heart shape and the rest as a small star shape since I could get a lot more out of the batter.

The boys love the treats. Shooter knew exactly when I pulled out peanut butter jar that I would be making him treats. He is funny! I wanted to get a photo of them with Jon eating the treat but it did not work out as I wanted. Shooter tried right away to take the treat while Hank did not have a clue what to do. He was waiting to get his own treat and let Shooter deal with the one in Papa's hand. Smart Doggies! Well now off to bed. Happy Tuesday!

*Update*
Here is the recipe for the Peanut Butter Doggie Treats:
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup of water
2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup of oatmeal

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl combine peanut butter, oil, and water. Gradually add flour, then the oatmeal. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with a cookie cutter. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen treats.
