I cannot believe that I am now finally caught up with my blog posts. I thought that I would never catch up. For dinner tonight I ended up making Homemade Sloppy Joe's. It as quick and easy. My mom had emailed me about this one website that I ended up really liking. I ended up making my own coupon binder so that I have a place to put all my coupons in. I have a lot of clipping to do this week to get this all finished. Well my eyes are getting really heavy now so I think that it is time for bed Good night!
Monday Jon and I both had off from work. It was nice to have a three day weekend. It was a really really hot day... I was not motivated to do anything. We noticed that our garden is starting to grow! I am super excited. We ended up going fishing later that night as well. I freaked out while trying to take a fish off the hook. But Jon was there to save me like usual... hope everyone had a great Memorial Day!
On Sunday Jon and I decided to have a get together with some of the neighbors and friends. It was a blast! Happy Early (well late now) Memorial Day!
Saturday was a busy day for Jon and I. I ran around in the morning cleaning, cooking and packing for that night. I had a Bridal Shower up north that I was invited to. It was a blast. Around 4pm I went to pick up Jon from his work so that we could head up North again to go camping with Jon's Uncle. Here are some photos from that day...
There was karaoke later that night and it was great hearing everyone get up on stage and sing. I did not have the guts to do so but Jon's Cousin and wife went up and sang. We had a great night with family and friends. Glad that the weather held up that night and it was not rainy.
It's been a very busy weekend and I have not posted anything since Friday! Better catch up now... On Friday Jon and I went to Target after dinner and went to get our friends their shower gift. I also wanted to coupon for some things as well. we ended up getting them a wine cooler, all those items above and a brand new tent. I got all my items that are above for around $15.00. I was pretty excited.
Today Jon was off work. He ended up having to get a new phone since his was not working properly. He ended up getting the new iPhone 4. He loves it. Jon says it is a lot better than his old phone. For dinner tonight Jon made Cheesy Potato Soup since it was so cold out today. I feel like I am getting a cold or my allergies are just bugging me. Hopefully it's warmer this weekend. I have a ton to do outside in the yard. Jon is working on his motorcycle while the boys and I are inside watching TV and doing laundry.
Today was a strange day. I woke up to it raining. While getting ready Shooter was at my heels since it was thundering out. By the time that I left it was down pouring. I went to work and By the time it was time to go home it was nice and sunny. Jon and I ended up having homemade pizza for dinner.
The sky started to change darker. We are under the flash flood warning, flood advisory and a tornado watch. Hopefully none of those happen to us. Now it is just raining a little nothing major. Well hope everyone had a get Wednesday.
Tonight I came home to make some Fried Chicken Tenders and French Fries. I think that next time I make this I will make it in the oven again. It was much easier to do it in there and less messy. I think Jon enjoyed it but I liked the oven ones better.
Well I have officially taken over the dining room table with all my plants! Jon and I went to Home Depot tonight since I wanted to look for Purple Coneflowers for my garden. Well they did not have them and I was so disappointed. I had seeds of them at home but I thought that maybe they would have them in stock and I could plant them before the rain storm tomorrow. Oh well. So I did plant the seeds that I had in a starter tray. Hopefully they will sprout. I also planted some lavender and ornamental grass seeds as well. It's time for bed now. Good night everyone!
Tonight I came home to make tacos for dinner. I ended up trying to make Weeknight Taco Salad for myself but I noticed that my lettuce went bad so I was unable to make it into a salad for myself. Oh well at least I tried. After dinner Jon and I went fishing. I ended up taking off my first fish from the hook. I was pretty excited that I was able to finally do it myself and not have Jon having to run and help me out. Then I caught another Bass but I was freaking out while I was trying to take it off since I could not get the hook out of the Bass' mouth. Jon had to help me out with that one.
Today was day two of my class at Bass Pro Shop. I ended up passing my test and now I am able to get my hunter's license and go hunting with Jon now. I am so excited. That means more food to feed our family! Yeah! Anyways. When I got home Jon and I went to Wal-Mart to go grocery shopping for the week. When we got back we started on dinner. I was busy still working on work stuff. Dinner was great. I love cooking a whole chicken. We get so much food from a whole chicken as well. Jn ended up putting in a compartment in the boat. Looking good Honey! Well it's about to rain here and Shooter is freaking out while we watch River Monster's. Hopefully I will be able to get some sleep tonight with all of Shooter's shaking and panting tonight.
Saturday was a busy day for me. I had to get up early and go to Bass Pro Shop to take a two day class on Hunter Safety in order for me to hunt with Jon and his Uncle. The class was from 9am-4pm. I ended up learning a lot from the class. We got out early around 3pm. I came home to finish some of my work that I needed to get done. Then Jon and I went to Sycamore Speedway up North to celebrate his brother's birthday. It was a blast. I really miss Jon racing but it was way too expensive for us to do. Oh well.
It is FRIDAY! Yeah! Today was crazy busy at work. I ended up having to bring home my work stuff to continue working on it. Jon and I started our garden tonight. I am so excited. I cannot wait to see everything start to grow. We had Pork Chops with Roasted Red Potatoes and Corn on the Cob. It was so good. i am glad corn is almost back in season. I will have to stock up on it this year.
Well I have not posted anything since it was been a crazy week. I am finally posting everything. Here I go...
On Thursday was Danny's birthday. We headed up North to help him celebrate. We went out to Bill's Pub for dinner. Jon and I have not been there in years I think. It was yummy. After dinner we went by Dan's house to see all our old friends since they were over. It was a blast. Happy Birthday Danny! Hope you had a blast!
Tonight I ended up making a calzone instead of making our traditional pizza that we normally have. Well I am not sure if I will remake this again since the smoke detectors kept going off when nothing in the oven was burning. I did not get it. Oh well. It was good but I think that I will end up filling it with other fillings. Jon is still working on the Monte in the garage. For some reason the ticking is back. Hopefully he can get it fix. The boys and I are relaxing on the couch watching T.V. I cannot wait for the weekend even though I will be in a class ALL weekend long I am still excited.
Today was another chilly day. It was nice to see the sun out. I have been reading a lot about flowers over the past few days. I am trying to get my garden into shape quickly but it seems something else comes up and I do not do it. Finally today I got out there and move one bush and a few hostas. I think I am going to try and get another bush done tomorrow hopefully! Jon is working in the garage again and I think he will finish the car tonight. We had Layered Enchilada Bake for dinner. It was yummy. This time I put corn in it and I think that made it better. Plus I did not use as much ground beef either. Well off to read more on flowers.
Tonight I came home to find Jon mowing the lawn. It really needed it since we ended up bagging 2 lawn bags instead of 1. For dinner I made Foil-Pack Chicken and Broccoli. It was tasty. I forgot only one thing the ranch dressing. It was still good. I had these small tins from Christmas that I was going to use for something but never did. Then ended up being perfect for this meal.
Jon had brought home some cookie dough for one of his co-workers daughter's fund raiser. I was so excited to try some. So tonight is the night. I needed to bake something to keep my mind off things... Yummy! Can't wait to try one!
Jon and I spent the day working around the house. We went to the grocery store and to Menard's as well. I wanted to get some lattice so that I could put up so that I can get my ivy to grow up it and fill it it in. I think it turned out pretty nice.
Here is the side view with some of my ivy plants that will be growing up the lattice. It was cold very cold today it raining a little this afternoon. The boys and I were in the house working on some work things that I needed to finish this weekend. Jon cleaned the garage up since a side Job was coming over.
For dinner tonight we ended up having Creamy Chicken Fajitas. They were good I think that I should have made more of them for Jon to eat for lunch tomorrow. Now Jon and I are relaxing watching T.V. I still cannot believe that it is only 7:25pm right now. It has been a long day. I hope that it is a little warmer next week.
This morning the boys and I went out with Uncle Bill to run the dogs. He even brought the puppy with to see how see how she would do out there. She stayed close to us which was probably a good idea. On the ride home somehow ALL the dogs were in the front seat with us. It was cute. At least they all got along...
I had to use up some coupons that were going to expire on Saturday but I was able to get all these items for .38 cents. Not bad. I was shocked that Target had all these items. Wal-Mart did not have any of these items in stock the last time I went looking for these the other week.
I finally got my holders up in the closet. I feel like there are so much room on the shelf now in the closet. Yeah! Thanks honey!
Today was a busy day at work. I came home to start cleaning the house. Tomorrow the boys and I will be going out with Jon's Uncle to run the dogs in the morning. I will have to get a little more done tonight so that I will not have too much to do tomorrow. We ended up finally having our chili. Our neighbor had made some chili a couple of weeks ago for us. It was really good. Now Jon and I are justing watching T.V. and relaxing but after this post I need to start cleaning! Happy Friday the 13th!
Yesterday Blogger was down all day so I was not able to post anything. It was a long day yesterday. Jon was busy working on the boat all night. He has come pretty far. He says that there is a lot more to do but it is coming along.
I was pretty happy all my watering and over seeding has helped. The grass is FINALLY growing. I am so happy. I was worried that the grass was not going to come through this year...
Tonight we has a late dinner. We ended up having homemade pizza with green peppers and italian beef. It was good. I think that I like the polish sausage better but it was a nice change.
Today was another hot day. By the time that I got home I was debating if I should water the garden or not. It down poured about two hours later. We even had some hail. I was freaking out since my car is outside because of the boat. For dinner tonight we had Oven-Fried Chicken Fingers and Fries. It was good. I think I need to make the potatoes a little thinner next time but other than that it was quick and easy and yummy! After dinner we went fishing at two of the local ponds near our house. Now the boys and I are watching T.V. while Jon is sanding the boat floor. I cannot wait until the boat is finished and we can actually enjoy all of Jon's hard work.
Today was a hot day here. I think that it was 92 degrees out. Way too hot for me. Jon and I were suppose to have Chili tonight but I was way too hot to eat chili. Jon ended up having hole in the bread. We tried to transplant a bush today but it did not work too well since it was really in the ground and would not budge. Oh well. I think that we will have to end up buying another bush like it to put in the original place that I wanted to put it. Happy Tuesday!
Today was a busy day at work. Time flew by. I came home to water my plants since I thought that it was going to rain today and it did not. Tonight I made BBQ Roasted Chicken with Parmesan Roasted Potatoes for dinner. It was good but I seemed to over cook the chicken... Oh well.
Jon and I went grocery store to pick up food for this week. I got all of these items for $1.02. I was shocked. Good thing since Jon bought a whole bunch of fishing lures when we were at Wal-Mart! I must have taught him well since he pick up all the lures in the Clearance section.
Well on Sunday I ended up breaking the tip off Jon fishing pole in the window. I was so angry with myself that I did it but Jon was able to fix it so I was happy. We also went to Bass Pro Shop to pick up a fishing rod repair kit and some lures...
I ended up picking out this hot pink lure to use. I think that this might be the lucky lure this year... I am keeping my fingers crossed!
Happy Mother's Day! It was so cute this morning when I woke up this morning Jon rolled over and said Happy Mother's day to me. Even though I am a doogie momma it was sweet of him to say that. This afternoon we headed up North to see our Mom's. My mom and I dug up some of her Grape Hyacinths that she had in her yard. I replanted them around one of our flowering bushes. I think it was a perfect spot.
My mom and I went to IKEA today to look around a get a few things. I needed to get more tea lights and I found some great thick plastic cutting boards. I also found this cute white frame as well. My total purchase $5.00. Not bad. I really wanted to get a new sheets for our bed but I resisted my urge.
My mom gave me some of her Homemade granola that she made the other day. I cannot wait to try it. I think that I will have to pick up some yogurt so that I can have that for breakfast this week.
When Jon and I came home Jon mowed the lawn which needed it bad. After that we went fishing at another local fishing pond but it was way too weedy. It was neat to actually see catfish near the surface. It must be mating season for them. I wish that there was more time in the day to get things done. I must figure out what Jon and I will be having for dinners this week. I did not get a chance to go shopping for our groceries. I guess on Monday I will be grocery shopping. Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and Weekend.
Today was the day. Jon's aunt came over and helped me in the garden. She brought me some plants from her garden to plant in mine. We did a lot of work. She helped me figure out where I should start my perennial garden. So this is just a temporary home for these plants but once I move some more Dogwood bushes then I can replant these.
I ended up having to move one of my bushes that was by the front door in order to fit all the plants that his Aunt gave me. I will have to move the other three as well BUt hopefully I can get this done in the next two weeks.
Jon's Aunt had told me that these Ivy plants (not sure what the actual name of the plant is but I am going to call it Ivy.) She told me that it might be a good idea to take this plant and put up some lattice so that this ivy can grow in between it. This would soften the fence and give that side some move depth. I am truly exhausted from ALL the work that I did. There is still so much more to do but Jon and I will get it done.
Today was a busy day at work. Time flew by. I came home to make homemade pizza. It was delish! Jon and I relaxed tonight. Tomorrow is a big day for me. I am re-doing my second bed. Jon's Aunt is coming over tomorrow to transplant some plants from her garden. I cannot wait. I am too excited. The boys have a vet check up tomorrow as well. Its going to be another busy day for me.
Jon got off around 4pm today and cleaned up some around the house. When I came home from work he was working on the boat again. We went fishing at a local pond near our house. I think that we both only caught 1 Bass each. The storm was rolling in so I told Jon that we needed to leave. Good thing we did since if we were there 10 more minutes we would have been soaked.
For dinner tonight we had quesadillas. They were quick and easy to make. I was going to make pizza tonight but I did not take out the frozen pizza dough last night. Oh well. I did take it out for dinner tomorrow.
Today was a busy day. Jon was off work so he helped me out and started on the BIG move for the side garden. He had to move five Dogwood Bushes to new homes. Last night I moved some perennials around to make some room for the bushes. (Please do not mind the panoramic photo... It took me about 2 hours to finally get it somewhat straight...)
I came home for lunch to see the transformation. It was great I cannot believe how much more space I have now to plant more plants. Hopefully this Saturday it will not rain so I can get some more plants in the bed from Jon's Aunt.
When on Lunch I stopped by Jewel to pick up some items. I ended up getting a ton of things all for $9.68. Not bad since Jon has been asking me to pick up snacks for him.
For dinner we had polish sausage with green peppers and pierogies. It was tasty and simple to make. I was not in the mood to cook tonight since I was so excited about my beds.
Jon worked on the boat alittle tonight. It is coming along quite nicely. I cannot wait to see what it looks like when it is all done. I just hope that the wood that we put in there does not sink the boat! Well off to bed now. The weekend is almost here!
